The local stannary town of Ashburton is a welcoming place, with several friendly public houses, restaurants, tea rooms and tourist information centre. It is also well known for quality antiques and bric-a-brac. There is easy access to the beach resorts of Torbay, Teignmouth and Dawlish to the south and Dartmoor National Park to the north. Being only one mile from the A38 trunk road, Exeter, Plymouth and Totnes are only a half hour drive.
