About us
Lent Hill House is situated on
the southern perimeter of Dartmoor National Park.
With ten acres of private woodland and river walks it is a magical location
for country lovers in search of peace and tranquillity. In winter this
stretch of the River Dart is well known to canoeists as a challenging
course between Holne Bridge and Buckfastleigh.
There is easy access to the beach resorts of Torbay, Teignmouth and
Dawlish to the south and Dartmoor National Park to the north. Being
only one mile from the A38 trunk road, Exeter, Plymouth and Totnes are
only a half hour drive. Travellers en route to Spain or France via Brittany
Ferries find that we are conveniently placed for a restful stopover
at the beginning or conclusion of their holidays.
All rooms are south facing with panoramic views over the beautiful River
Dart and deciduous woodlands beyond. Tea and coffee making facilities
and colour televisions are provided in all rooms along with a small,
but free, video library. A tasteful four-poster bedroom is also available.
We take the utmost pride in our
full English breakfast, using only our own eggs, free range bacon and
sausages, and organic produce. Evening meals are also available by prior
arrangement. Vegetarians are admirably catered for, as we have been
involved in this aspect of catering for many years.
The local stannary town of Ashburton is a welcoming place, with several
friendly public houses, restaurants, tea rooms and tourist information
centre. It is also well known for quality antiques and bric-a-brac.
Prices are from just twenty pounds [sterling] per person, per night
inclusive of full English breakfast.
